Alpine Group formed in 1996, the same year Silent Quadrant began building the firm's digital foundation. The era offered no established playbook. Small firms were only beginning to adopt email and networked offices. Cloud did not yet exist as a concept. Cybersecurity was not yet a discipline.
What Alpine needed then was what Alpine needs now: infrastructure that holds up under pressure, confidentiality that cannot be compromised, and a partner who understands that a technology failure is never just a technology failure. It is a failure of the firm's ability to serve its clients.
The relationship began with a specific problem, a specific engagement, a specific standard. It has continued, unbroken, through every generation of technology since.
- 1996The Engagement
Alpine Group forms. Silent Quadrant builds the firm’s first digital foundation, at a time when most small firms were only beginning to adopt email and networked offices.
- 2001Always-On
Broadband arrives. The environment is re-architected for continuous connectivity. Email becomes mission-critical, and security becomes a discipline rather than an afterthought.
- 2010Continuity
Hybrid infrastructure and disciplined disaster recovery replace the fragility of single-site systems. The standard begins to compound.
- 2017Cloud Identity
Migration to cloud-first identity, mobile device management, and modern collaboration. The perimeter gives way to an identity-centered posture.
- 2022Certification
Alpine is the first firm to hold the SQ Cybersecurity Certification, formalizing a standard three decades in the making.
- 2024AI Enablement
Generative intelligence is integrated into the firm’s working fabric under managed governance, selected and deployed by the team that has run Alpine’s environment since 1996.
- 2026.The Standard Held
Every system, every policy, every control governed by one continuous discipline. Thirty years, unbroken.
Thirty years is long enough to have watched the industry invent itself. Networked offices gave way to always-on connectivity, and then to the cloud. Email went from novelty to mission-critical. Security, once an afterthought, became a discipline, and then an architecture. Compliance frameworks that did not exist at the start of the engagement now define the floor. Through all of it, the principle governing Alpine's environment has not changed: every system, every policy, every control serves one purpose, which is to let the firm do its work without friction and without exposure.
In 2022, Silent Quadrant formalized that standard for Alpine through the SQ Cybersecurity Certification, a discipline built over decades of running environments for firms that could not afford to be wrong. Alpine was the first to hold it. In the years since, the certification has been extended across every surface of the firm's operations. Identity, email, endpoints, networks, cloud systems, and now AI, all governed by a single posture, all maintained continuously.
More recently, the work has extended into AI. Not as experiment. As integration. The tools Alpine uses to draft, analyze, and communicate are selected, deployed, and monitored by the same team that has run the firm's environment since 1996. The standard is the same. The discipline is the same. The outcome is the same, which is that Alpine operates with confidence that no detail has been overlooked.
“In now thirty years of working with Silent Quadrant, the most valuable asset they've provided is absolute peace of mind. They don't just manage our systems; they protect our ability to work without interruption. Knowing they are always a step ahead, ensuring our infrastructure is stable and our team is supported, allows us to stay laser focused on our mission. Their responsiveness is simply unmatched.”
Rhod ShawChairman & Principal, Alpine Group
A discipline that did not yet exist as an industry. No cloud. No identity layer. No established playbook for how a small professional firm should build its digital foundation. Technology managed through effort and invention.
A unified posture governed by one standard. Identity, communications, endpoints, cloud systems, and AI managed as a single discipline. An environment maintained through design, not through reaction.
For Alpine today, technology behaves the way a foundation should behave: present but unseen, reliable without qualification, strong enough that the firm's leadership never has to wonder whether it will hold. When something new is required, it is delivered. When something old begins to age, it is replaced before it fails. When the regulatory or threat landscape shifts, the environment shifts with it, quietly, without drama, without interruption.
That is the full description of the service. It is also, after thirty years, the proof of the service.
Some relationships outlast the things that created them. Alpine does not work with Silent Quadrant because of a contract signed in 1996. Alpine works with Silent Quadrant because the standard has been kept, continuously, through three decades of technology change and business growth. Every year that Silent Quadrant has held that standard has made the next year's work easier, and the year after that easier still.
The record speaks. So does the relationship.
